Air Jordan has been making a lot of waves about their retro model sneakers. Among the next series of sneakers on its lineup is the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Yin Yang”. It is an old-school look, very retro 1980’s, standard sneaker design. The remastered brand goes back to its roots bringing back sneakers which follow as true to the original silhouette as any other Air Jordan before it with the OG series.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Yin Yang” is a high cut model and comes in two variants. The white Retro High OG has a white upper, with black swish and trim, along with a red tab on the tongue. On the other hand, the black model has a two-tone black bottom sole, black upper with white swish and trim, as well as a red tab on the tongue. Paired together, the two variants do come out as a Yin-Yang of sneakers. The two variants comprise the “Premium Essentials” line of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG.
The retro silhouette has come back in a big way, not only for these high cuts but also for low cut varieties coming out of Air Jordan. Although the Air Jordan series has been chiefly noted for the flashy colors and incorporating the wedge sole design, as well as the air cushion bubble, the Air Jordan 1 Retro series is a back to the basics cut. The no-fuss design encapsulates the “essentials” when being low key is the true mark of flashy.
A Minimalist Approach
In contrast with other Air Jordan models, the Yin Yang versions look like a stripped down to the bare essentials in color. They push the sneaker brand to the time when sneakers only came in two colors: black or white. These are solid designs based on respected as well as time-honored traditions which are sure to have a lot of following. At least this has been proven when it was first released in Asia.
The seeming simplicity of the design hides the underlying notion behind the Yin Yang. These are the staples, and are intended to be part of every sneakerhead’s rotation. These are clean designs, unmoded and meant to blend in with the crowd. Every other colorway is dependent on the basics underlying the Yin Yang.
If you are a sneakerhead and a fan of true retro, this is the shoe which says 23 is back. You have to stay tune to know more about Jordan releases 2016.
