Uniqueness is the key to making this model. It highlighted the unique features of Brazil by using its flag colors throughout the footwear. The color blue started right at the ankle area of the footwear working its way towards the toe area. But aside from the blue color, the brand used green color knitted in a gradient effect starting from the middle part of the shoes to the toes. Since the brand wants to achieve gradient effect, it started with minimal knitted work on the midpart of the footwear then making it look more prominent towards to the toe part.
The brand also applied multiple branding elements to the Air Jordan XXX1 Rio. The ankle area has a prominent Jumpman logo embroidered in the same green color. Beside it is the Swoosh logo that appear through the piece’s gradient green effect on the footwear. The Swoosh logo looks incomplete due to the gradient effect, but the brand is going for that style. On the other side of the prominent Jumpman logo is the popular Air Jordan logo embossed on the upper material. The same effect is used on the tongue area to place another Jumpman logos.
The soles also received similar treatment in terms of colors and branding. The insole has the same blue color with a Jumpman logo printed in red as an accent. The boundary between the midsole and the upper has the same gradient effect using green and blue colors. But the ankle area has green color first then gradating to blue color towards the toe. The midsole has plain white color that extends to the outsole. The brand gave the outsole a unique treatment by placing translucent outsole at the middle part with Jumpman logos placed in pinkish-red color.
Completing the entire design is the blue round shoelaces placed in green-colored lace holes.
Since 23 is back with this special model, Air Jordan XXX1 Rio will be available this year on August 12, 2016 with a price of $185. It’s one of the special Jordan releases 2016, so expect that it will be available at the brand’s stores and other Jordan distributors. Reports said that it will officially drop in Nike SNKRS on the same date and something worth noting down if you want to get this model. Watch out for other stores that will have this model in their inventories by tuning in to online reports.
