The number 23 is back and they have made it more complicated than ever. By ‘complicated’ were talking about the ingenuous ways Air Jordan is introducing color into their classic silhouettes, using shades that you rarely see anywhere else. One of the new Jordan releases 2017, the Take Flight is officially a color combination of Sequoia, Metallic Gold, and Vachetta Tan – quite a mouthful if you are going to describe it. Right now, we will just call it by its official name: Take Flight.

Colors in Their Most Basic
In an effort to reduce colors in their most basic and closest possible shades, you should know that most of the shoe body is covered in what appears to be a cross between brown and green. The color covers most of the shoes, giving that ‘mountain man’ vibe but with all the class that comes only from an unmistakable Air Jordan design.
It is definitely not something you can confuse with anything else. The tongue which is done in a gold-yellow-brown hue proudly displays an imprint of the Jumpman logo, this one slightly larger than the usual icon on the center. An additional Jumpman logo on the heel of the shoes is also imprinted to help complement the design. The icons are on the material themselves, causing a slight raise on the leather instead of sewing a different material onto the surface. The result is a very clean incorporation of the Jumpman onto the shoes.
The laces are sadly in the same shade of the rest of the shoes. This might help pull the whole design together, but a unique lace color makes it very hard to replace the thing just in case you lose the originals during use.
The outsole is capped with a translucent shade of rubber. The midsole follows the same coloring of everything else.
Cost and Release
The Air Jordan 5 Take Flight is set for a February 11 release. The bad news is that there is no specific price for the item yet so you might want to set aside as much as $200 just to be on the safe side. If anything, you might want to put in an order now – especially since the Take Flight looks like it is going to be in demand.
Take Flight gives the impression of outdoor shoes – perhaps something you can wear while going trekking or doing anything that demands a lot of ground work. Do you like it?
