Instead of returning to NBA the next year, he decided to play professional baseball as a tribute to his late father who always dreamed of him being a Major League baseball player. But Tinker Hatfield insisted on continuing his designs for new Air Jordans. He believed that Jordan was not yet done with basketball. If not for him, we probably do not have Jordans anymore. True enough, Jordan returned to NBA in 1995 and won three straight championships from 1996-1998.

As of the present, there are over 30 Air Jordan models. One of the upcoming Air Jordans that is yet to be released is the new Air Jordan 12 Retro GS “Barons,” which is a new colorway for the original Air Jordan 12 series. The colorway is inspired by the Birmingham Barons with colors featuring a white body, black accents, as well as wolf gray under soles. The first Barons colorway was first released with Air Jordan 9.
