The silhouette has always been a favorite so it is not surprising that this year’s Jordan releases will include the design, this time with a brand new colorway. Officially dubbed as the black and black-metallic gold color combination, these particular shoes are a tad expensive at $225, especially since many releases this year cost only $190.
Would the Shoes be Worth it?
Carrying a very formal feel to it, the Air Jordan 12 OVO is an all black ensemble. The metallic gold is mainly confined to the metal eyelets located at the top portion of the kicks. The eyelets are holding on to fairly ordinary black rounded laces. That is actually a good thing considering how laces tend to lose their way after washing the shoes. With the laces being easily ordinary, you should not have a hard time replacing them if they get lost.
Following the general pattern of the silhouette, a portion of the mudguard is different in texture, following a very grainy pattern that is easily distinguished from the rest of the kicks. The variance in material used provides additional texture to the shoes, thus adding both appeal and personality to the look.
The tongue is also done in black with the logo and the words TWO 3 stitched onto the material on a vertical pattern. This is the disappointing part as Air Jordan decided to use black stitching for the icon. The result is a black on black ensemble that makes it very difficult to notice the icon on the center of the tongue.
Fortunately, the heel logo is a little more obvious. The number 23 is depressed onto the material, thus allowing it to be easily seen.
There is not much to tell about the soles – they are all done in black with just a very subtle variance in the depth of the black shade.
As with all Air Jordan 12 releases, the emphasis is really on the design of the shoes itself rather than the color. Exhibiting an excellent formation and complementary texture extremes, it is easy to love the Air Jordan 12 OVO no matter what color it is. Of course, not everyone may have the same opinion.
The Air Jordan 12 OVO will be available in stores on the 11th of February. Considering the popularity of the silhouette, it is unlikely that the shoes will last long on the shelves so make sure to put in your orders now!
