The much anticipated Air Jordan XXX1 “Chinese New Year” is planned for release on January 28th, 2017 and is causing lots of excitement in the market. This special edition release coincides with the Chinese New Year known as the Year of the Rooster that begins on the day of release marking a milestone for both Nike and Chinese people.
Of the many Jordan releases, this one is among the most fascinating as it’s connected to other events. In addition to the release happening at the sane time with the Chinese New Year, this shoe’s release also happening at the same time with “Air Jordan 12” that will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary.
The Air Jordan 31 is the thirty-first signature shoe by Michael Jordan and premiered on July 20th, 2016 during a live event held in Las Vegas. A closer look reveals similarities with the Air Jordan 1 as both blend Flyweave, Leather, Zoom Air and more. The special edition shoe is available for both men and girls and falls under the Air Jordan CNY edition.
Its color scheme is plain and simple and consists of black and white while Chinese motifs make it more colorful. To bring out the Chinese appeal, the Air Jordan XXX1 “Chinese New Year” shoe features Chinese signs on the tongue’s inner side and the back end is made from wood grain/bamboo mid-sole. A Red Jump man logo is etched on the icy translucent out-sole with wood prints scattered allover the shoe while the heel and lace eyelets consist of bamboo accents. The mudguard has a unique pattern that makes its standout and enhances the shoe’s appeal.
The feminine shoe designed for girls is different from the male shoe and looks more vibrant and fancy. The plain white upper has been replaced with off-white color and a dashy Team Red incorporated on the inner lining. However, like the male Air Jordan 31 Chinese New Year special edition, the heel is all leather and features the iconic Swoosh in black. The icy outsole includes a bamboo heel that brings out a contrasting effect.
Rumors and speculations suggest that retail giants are preparing for the release of the shoe so as to keep up with the anticipated demand which is expected to rise upon release and will continue to do so as the shoe starts finding its way into the retail outlets. And from the look of things, the Air Jordan XXX1 “Chinese New Year” could be among the mention-able Jordan releases that have been witnessed lately. The expected retail price will be approximately $200.
